Kelowna Yacht Club Builds Community!

This past weekend Multinational Boat Source took in the events of the Kelowna Yacht Club's Commodore Cup and Dinghy Regatta.  The event included Keelboat races, dinghy races for youth, BBQ's, dinners,  great music and a fundraiser for the Okangan Disabled Sailing Association, Okanagan Branch .  It was a very festive atmosphere at the Yacht Club over the full weekend!

At the Dinghy Regatta a small group of Kelowna's youth raced hard on the water and shared stories around a picnic BBQ afterwards.  The teenagers were supportive of the younger racers while coaches and parents pulled together to ensure the weekend was filled with fun for the kids.  The wind picked up for some great racing on Sunday and everyone seemed excited about their time on and off the water.

Coach Valerie Cloutier rigs up an Opti from Multinational Boat Source.
The Championship Hull from FarEast, Optiparts Spars and UK MEGA II
Sail partnered with Valerie's abilities made the BoatSource rig the fastest
Opti on the water!
At the end of the event all the participants came together for a quick presentation as Multinational Boat Source donated a new UK MEGA II School Sail for the Learn To Sail Program at the Kelowna Yacht Club.  "We hope the sail will provide opportunity for more youth to become involved with the KYC.  It's clearly a place where all can learn the value of community and sport."

Coach and Sailer work together to ensure proper rig for Optimist
dinghy before heading out for the race.
Congrats to the Kelowna Yacht Club for a terrific weekend of sailing and community events!  We look forward to the opportunity to be involved again at next years event!
